I think both pictures are really nice. But I agree, the black & white picture has something which makes me like it more, which is weird because I normally like nature picture more in color..

Black and White tends to grow on you, the more you look the more you appreciate it.

This time, I would say that both work well. It depends on the story you want to tell.
