Exploring Scotland - A visit to the island of Cumbrae.
Even going for a walk you can come across so nice views or some interesting detail in the surroundings
keeping your eye open then you never know what you may find around you.
The island can be got to by ferry from Largs which sails at regular time though out the day.
The single main road around the island can be done on bike or walked
The main town is Millport located 2 to 3 miles from the ferry landing. ( depending on 1 of 2 routes to the place. )
You can come over by ferry and use the bus to get to the town. but is there is a few of you it would be cheaper to bring the car over.
The small town only has a few shops with one very small supermarket so may be a good idea to bring on a picnic or packed lunch
the whole island is apx 12 miles around via car so would not take long to drive but the cost of bring a car on the ferry does cost a lot and the number of vehicles the ferry holds is limited so may have a wait to cross at busy times
