DEK Macro Photography: A Beetle on a Yellow FlowersteemCreated with Sketch.

in photography •  7 years ago

Another insect with a shiny back (check out the last photo in this post, which I've posted a couple of weeks ago), likely a Longhorn beetle (Cerambycidae), which was looking for some grub on this tiny yellow flower. Ever wondered what yellow tastes like?

I'm on a quest to obtain the incredible Fujifilm 56mm f/1.2 and the excellent Fujifilm X-T2 camera. This is a duo made in heaven, especially for street photographers, such as myself.

Outstanding. Just when I thought I've seen your best work, more comes forth.

Well, that's too kind! :)

Hmm, a lemon banana daiquiri? Just throwing it out there.
Great photos of the bugs and flowers. Those close ups are really sharp. How big is the beetle? You said tiny flower, so must not be that big. Then again, tiny to a gnat is not the same as tiny to an elephaant.

Haha - haven't tasted one of those! :)

As far as I remember, the flower was 1-2 cm across, so that insect would be less than a centimeter.

Wait.... are you calling me fat?

You should try one, they're quite tasty. And I would never dream of it. (Get in trouble with that one...)
