A trip into the local town amuses my highly.
I love to leave though, heading back out of town is much more comforting than heading into it.
On the farm it is mainly wildlife that surrounds me, I hear the occasional aeroplane, tractor and maybe 1 or two cars a day, the rest of the sound is the thousands of wild birds I feed, the occasional hawk hovering overhead makes some intriguing noises sometimes, stalking it's prey on the ground below, woodpeckers we get a plenty here & then there is the daily visit of wild deer, around 8 of them is normal.
It is also the time of year when cranes, herons, geese & storks all return. Soon it will be the sound of thousands of frogs and millions of crickets ringing in the air & fields.
People watching.
It is very rare for me to encounter people on the farm, so a trip into town is great for a reality check, I tend to sit and watch the world go by for around 1 hour, and take in some lunch at various different eateries/bars. What never ceases to amaze me is peoples dependence on mobile phones, if they are not talking on them they are head deep in the screen typing away and giggling, I watch people sit down in bars and fail to speak a single word to each other, as they are too busy head stuck in phone, the occasional giggle and nudge to show off a funny picture, and that's about it, what happened to sharing the moment, the here and now? then there are the obsessive phone photo people, nothing is sacred to this strange breed, no space private not even fellow dinners are respected, all for the sake of a farcebook selfie.
I am never going to be that person that stops living this moment, just to capture a photo for any social media, and I am never going to be the guy that goes to a concert and spends his time staring into a tiny screen to share the video after, so yes, I am selfish, and living for the moment, and for me.
When I arrived on here, I read all the guides people were making, I read all the comments of people saying you must do 4 posts a day, been there done that, not doing it again thank you very much, and then the masses of people saying - comment, comment, comment, which is fine if you have nothing to do but steemit all day or night. So I am changing the way I do steemit and ripping up the designer guide for ever.
I started off on here looking for the best quality content I could find, and yes networking is great, to a certain degree, though not if it leaves you little time to do anything else.
I have neglected some great people that have passed by on my comment feed, by adding up the wrong people, and chasing the wrong dream, a lot of the big players on here do not want to talk to me and that is perfectly fine, so I am going to do this as I always wanted to do it, I am adding everyone that comments and supports me, relationships have to be built on a two way communication system, and I have let some people down. That changes now!.
I guess 1 post a day it is for me, maximum 2 and a few comments here and there. I have a farm to run and the grass does not cut itself, the tree branches and fallen over trees are not going to clean themselves up, and my bike restorations sure as heck will not suddenly decide to fix themselves.
On a slightly different note, some ink arrived today so I could refill my printer cartridges. stick 15ml in they said so I did, even though HP states 3ml, so now I look like I have turned into a goth, this ink was coming out of every conceivable place on these 2 cartridges, my hands and even my face are covered in this bloody stuff, you may have a giggle, while I scrub for a day or three.
Let me know in the comments section how you STEEMIT.
Peace - love & respect to all.
All photos belong to and are my own, you may use them upon request only!.
I am still learning how to steemit. Thank you for lending perspective. I have spent too much time this week on posting and commenting. Today ~right now~ I'm going to do something different and non electronic. Thank You for reminding me.
