As I drove across Newfoundland last year, the weather was getting worse - the snow was deep on the road and the plows couldn't keep up. I kept the wheels of my Jeep in the tire tracks of the vehicles ahead of me. Traffic was like a train, moving slowly and steadily, but it was not a simple matter to pull off the road into the unknown depths of the white-clad shoulder. Watching the scenery pass by, it was so pretty, and I finally found a side road that was safe, and pulled over to take some photos by this silvery river.
