My fourth and last post for the series with 4 posts of 4 different types of bees and all 4 in flight. So let's talk about this post. It is the Honeybee. This is what most people envision when they think of bees, but they account for only one of some 20,000 species of bees. Living in hives, they have been extensively domesticated for their honey production and crop pollination. While the bumblebee is technically a better pollinator, the sheer numbers of bees in a hive make up for any shortcomings of the individuals. I love this frontal shot where she looks like sheβs jumping and kicking!
