Is this near where you live? We have rattlesnakes galore and I never quite get used to the fact. Always on the lookout!!

Mount Washington, Massachusetts. About 50 miles from my house. We have Timber Rattlesnakes and Copperheads in the Hudson Valley NY. They are not aggressive but obviously dangerous. Where you live in Colorado, I think you have diamondback rattlesnakes which are much more aggressive. Lots of awesome wildlife in Colorodo.

I believe we have Diamondback. Maybe also Prairie. One of our dogs got bitten and survived but it was pretty ugly. I hike a lot around rocks and try to carry a stick and wear boots. I know I shouldn't do it alone, but sometimes I do. I usually bring my dog. I know they aren't aggressive, but one can still have a mis step.

San Luis Valley, Colorado.

I hike alone most of the time too. I always wear boots and jeans. You really have to pay attention. Especially with diamondbacks because they are very aggressive. Dangerous for the dog but I would bring him too. I love dogs.

Very nice image! Well captured.

Thank you.

Close call picture. :-)

I hiked 11 miles to the top of the mountain to a nest I was told of to get that shot. There were many up there and it was pretty crazy.
