In the next year my wife and I plan to move to San Diego. We are headed there in a couple weeks to check out different areas. Anyone have suggestions on nice areas to live?

I live in the La Jolla area of San Diego and it is so clean and beautiful. If you love being close to beaches then La Jolla is the way to go!

Like anywhere in Southern California, it is helpful to live near to where you work if at all possible. Lots of great neighborhoods in the city proper. A whole slew of beach communities and boundless suburbs reaching into the desert! Basically, the closer to the water the more $. Lots of dog beaches!
