Boh Jambee Hana Malee (Anacardium occidentale)

Anacardium occidentale is a plant of the family Anacardiaceae tribe originating from Brazil. This fruit can be eaten when ripe. In Acheh, we call Boh Jambee hana Melee. Hana Malee means no shame. that is, the fruit has its seeds on the outside, not covered with meat.

Besides meat edible fruits, seeds Anacardium occidentale can also be used as food, known as cashew nuts.
In the life of the people of Acheh, the young leaves of Anacardium occidentale often used as a salad, raw or cooked. While the older leaves are used as traditional medicine for skin diseases, as well as to cope with skin rash.

Anacardium occidentale constituent parts can also be used in traditional medicinal herbs, especially to heal the skin; to clean the mouth, and to laxatives (purgativa).
