Landscape in Venice

I took this photo a few days ago: is a scene that resumes the Grand Canal in Venice.

Once taken, I said: "OK, the photo is well exposed, is straight (!) Is pretty" but ...
... but something is missing: there is no dynamism and above all, leaves nothing to the imagination.

Then I tried to rethink it to convey what I wanted: this is the result I wanted to get:

Now, for me, there is strength, vitality, and personalization. Of course you may disagree;)
But I believe that every shot we have to convey an idea and, if possible, something to us.
What do you think?
