Late Night aka Early Morning

Gooood morning guys! It was 3pm when I woke up, because I spend last night/early morning on another photography excursion. I didn't go to sleep at night because the sun rises at 3am, so it's best to just power through the night to see it. This time I went by foot, through the forest and over to the lake, well before the sun was up above the tree line.

This is not a new place to me, but I usually only come here in the wintertime. I was amazed by the scenery that unfolded itself as I stepped out of the woods on top of a hill, so magical. Clear still lake reflecting the amazing colours of the sky and a fog hovering on top of the surface of the lake.

Stupid me only had the 50-100mm lens with me, instead of 18-35mm, which would have captured more of the beauty onto the same picture. I usually limit myself to one lens, in purpose, because I think it forces me to be more creative, get more uniform results, and I don't waste time on changing lenses all the time. I'll just come with the other lens some other morning so that I can capture the scenery more widely in one shot. I got a lot of pictures during the hours I spend here, and I can't wait to share it with you in the coming days.

Here is a little video clip to show where I was taking pictures for two hours. I didn't add any music so you can hear the sounds of nature.

Awesome, and a superb video with sounds to boot!

You seem to like the Finnish nature just as much as I do :)

Yes, if anything the seasonal variations are interesting. I like the summer best.

I think in a half a year, I'll have a lot of pictures from the same spots, different times of the year and I can do a post with comparisons to highlight the four seasons :)

This looks magical! :) I love it so much, keep up the good work!!

I like your video, it very beautiful. Nature always give peace

Beautiful photo! Can't wait to get some shots like that myself! (Off to Isle of Skye for a few months working! :D )

Oh wow, those sceneries are probably insane!

In most of my earlier works I was trying to only use 5 colours( exception to this rule was small details like the eyes). But now it seems that it is no longer enough to express myself. So now I am slowly adding more different tones. I like new possible colour combinations but at the same time it is a bit harder to choose what to use.

wow what a beautiful sunrise <3 <3 <3

I see you are good at landscapes too, beautiful colors and composition. Love the mist on the lake!

Thanks, I worked really hard to make this beautiful landscape and I think I did good! 😝

That visuals in the video are amazing, the colors are so peaceful. The nature it's such amazing.

Beautiful place. Just so inviting for a fishing adventure.
