Up Close And Personal
It is humbling to be aware of this tiny cosmos that makes us up, as well as the greater cosmos that we compose. I'm not sure if this level of awareness and consciousness extends beyond us, but I'd like to think it does in some capacity. There is so much beauty on the smaller and grander scheme of our reality! This series is where I intend to capture a portion of the smaller things in life that may go unnoticed. One does not gain a true sense of something without seeing it from multiple perspectives.
I think it's important to be able to see things from different perspectives. It gives us a truer sense of matters, and may help us better ourselves and others. I really enjoy this macro lens and try to take my camera with me as much as possible. I'll sacrifice looking like a tourist in my own city because you can find something beautiful basically anywhere. These images were taken while on a walk with my daughter to the park. She pointed this object out to me which I had strangely never noticed.
This was at our neighborhood park which we have been to many times over the years, and I was surprised I had never noticed this. My daughter always had, but I guess she just assumed I had and never said anything. This time she actually pointed it out to me and we admired it together for the first time.
You may have a better sense of what this may be by now. After realizing this thing existed, I went to town on the macro shots. Went from not noticing it to perhaps seeing the beauty further than many passer byes.
The grand reveal! I'm not exactly sure how it was made, but it appears to have a bit of wire/mesh type stuff underneath and maybe clay or something to form the face. At any rate, it is a really cool piece that I didn't notice for some reason. Sometimes we go through life and don't give ourselves a chance to step back and enjoy the little things. There is so much to appreciate out there!
