Cereals in my garden ... continued

Greetings, my subscribers and blog guests!

And so we continue the conversation, about the problem-free plants of my garden - cereals.

The phallaris reed (Phalaris arundinacea), is also called canary grass.

It was still at the dacha, my neighbor saw such a grass * ... I say, I also need it, even then I did not know what it was called, but at that time I did not think about names and did not remember, I like it-we take it. That's how she first appeared in the dacha living near the pond, and then the rootlet moved to the village garden. The aggressor is the same - these roots are creeping, so it grows in large plastic pots without a bottom, but still tries to get to neighbors, it can grow in full sun, and in the shade, I cut it 3 times per season and clip the peduncles - they I do not like. I still use it in the mixboarder in the form of an accent near the green bushes. Further plans for him - will go to live in the coastal zone of the pond, when he will.

Fried Fescue (Festuca glauca)

I do not even remember how I got it ... but yes ... I bought seeds and raised it myself, such cool hummocks from it turn out unpretentious, well winter, in spring I find a lot of self-seeding - that's it she goes to the garden. The plant is universal and a lot of what is combined, but I'll write about my plans for it. I plan to make a curb along the path out of it, where nothing tall will fit, but it will fit, I think it's good against the background of green grass, and the gray path will look balanced and do not overload the space. I also like it at the feet of roses, like a ground-cover plant, now I'm growing my kindergarten to realize my thoughts.

Miscanthus Chinese Zebrinus (Miscanthus sinensis Zebrinus)

Another cereal - very intense unusual - strips in it are transverse, I have not blossomed yet, so I can not tell about its brushes, but it does not matter to me - the drawing on the leaves attracted my attention. Under favorable conditions it can grow up to 2 meters.

Millet-rod-shaped (Panic-shaped Rehbraun)

What can I tell about it when I bought it? I was led by the fact that by the end of summer the leaves should acquire a reddish-brown color, and during the summer they are greenish, growing in the sun, about a meter high. Beauty while I did not see him, just can not have enough season, and even this summer what this year was. Problems with it so far I do not see - we will wait, when it will open in all its glory.

Millet-shaped Northwind (Panicum virgatum Northwind)

The plant with bluish-green leaves, turn yellow in the autumn, compact - does not fall apart from the wind and rain, has grown very rapidly, grows more than one and a half meters.

Sincerely, Feyacvetov.
