Procrastination at the Falls

Howdy! ¡Buenas!

Class starts on Monday, and I've been procrastinating. I turned in a rough draft of a lesson plan for the first week of the class I'm teaching, but I something more complete and I really need to create a PowerPoint. But, to the falls!

Las clases empiezan el lunes y estaba procrastinando. Entregué una versión preliminaria del plan para la primera semana de la clases que enseño, pero necesito algo más completo y que hacer un Powerpoint. Pero bueno... ¡A la cascada!

The entrance to the falls involves going down a steep, narrow gravel road with sharp turns and no way to pass. I've been lucky not to run into anyone coming the other way, so far.

Para llegar a la cascada, hay que bajar una cuesta importante por una calle de grava muy estrecha sin manera de pasar otros vehículos. He tenido suerte en no encontrar a otro hasta el momento.

The water is very low in the river, despite the week of rainstorms. I'm guessing they're controlling flow with the upstream dam, to prevent flooding in town.

Calm river — Río tranquilo

The result is that the river is very calm and reflects almost like a mirror.

Well, procrastinating isn't all bad. I thought of some good activities for my class, while pondering the universe, watching fish jump, and all that.

Bueno, procrastinar no es todo malo. Pensé en algunas actividades para mi clase mientras pensando en el universo, mirando los peces soltando y todo eso.
