Did you spray paint it? Using the same paint on the metal and the wooden parts?

Yea spray paint. I should have used regular paint on the big areas of wood. Wood was so old and dry it just kept sucking up the paint. Some places I painted 10+ times. Looks one hell of a lot better than it did though. I have painting windows and garage doors on the list so I'll probably touch it up with regular paint. Oh and it was fixed using a staple gun and gorilla glue.

We oiled our patio and the dried old wood really sucked up the oil.
What you've done with the cage probably ends up prolonging its life quite a bit.
