Teaching @jackstep Videography - How Do You Get To Carnegie Hall? Practice

Practice Makes Perfect

Today I spent some time with @jackstep teaching him how to frame up shots and do more advanced setup on the Panasonic HMC-40 video camera. We go out from time to time to take stock photo and video shots. It is great practice and there is actually some money to be made selling stock footage.

@Jackstep is only 12 but is learning both patients and technical skills in media arts. He is gaining steady practice as we go out fairly regularly.

Today we were mostly shooting a large flock of pelicans that have come into the area this year. I have actually never seen that many in our area before. A local wildlife biologist and avid bird watcher Charles Sontag told us that while this was unusual it is not unheard of. Habitat changes and other things are affecting the Lake Michigan shoreline a lot.

Anyway great job @jackstep. You were very patient and I had a great time with you.
