The lake that changed our lives forever

Many years ago I was canoeing across this lake when I heard God's voice telling me we should move to this little town. I turned around and told my husband this. He was not a christian so he figured I had lost my mind. Instead of telling me that he looked at me and said people don't live here they stop to gas up and move on to better places. Well he had to eat crow over that statement. I felt extremely motivated because I was sure I heard Gods word. So I up and quit my caretaking job and moved us to this amazing little town.
At first my husband was not on board and not very happy because he had a long commute to work everyday. I'm sure I was not his favorite person as he was spending many hours driving. But as you find out in life God does have a plan for us and six years later my husband got to live his dream. He became the owner of a machine shop. He always wanted to be his own boss and now he was.
19 years later we are still in the same town and loving it. Our world went from being a park caretaker to owning our own business. So every time I am on this lake I think back to the time I heard Gods voice and I smile. I am so glad I trusted in my faith and moved us here. Our life has never been the same.
