Located a short distance from Barahona, a town that enjoys having had intense witchcraft activity in those dark and superstitious medieval centuries and lost in this part of the happy Soria belonging to the Judicial District of Almazán, between hills and valleys that still hide multiple secrets for the traveler, although not for the farmer and the shepherd who works and travels, respectively, its fields and inextricable paths, the small municipality of Villasayas sleeps the dream of the righteous, proud, however, of being one of the most picturesque and interesting in the area.
As is traditional, its houses, in whose structure the most fertile of rural architecture is always at the service of functionality, are gathered around an old parish church, much renovated in centuries where the relevance of the Sacred Geometry that had characterized the professionalism of the medieval stonemason-mason, was replaced by the imperatives of misguided fashions, but it still preserves its beautiful porticoed gallery, rowing with freshness and harmony and a main doorway, which, practically unique in its kind, denotes the possible work of a mysterious brotherhood, which, like the adventurous monks who accompanied the saint Brandán on his odysseys, could well have had their origin in Green Erin: distant Ireland.
Situado a escasa distancia de Barahona, pueblo que goza de haber tenido una intensa actividad brujeril en aquellos oscuros y supersticiosos siglos medievales y perdido en esta parte de la Soria feliz perteneciente al Partido Judicial de Almazán, entre colinas y valles que todavía esconden múltiples secretos para el viajero, aunque no para el agricultor y el pastor que labora y recorre, respectivamente, sus campos e inextricables senderos, el pequeño municipio de Villasayas duerme el sueño de los justos, orgulloso, no obstante, de ser uno de los pueblos más pintorescos e interesantes de la zona.
Como es tradicional, sus casas, en cuya estructura se recoge lo más fértil de una arquitectura rural al servicio siempre de la funcionalidad, se recogen alrededor de una vieja iglesia parroquial, muy reformada en siglos donde la relevancia de la Geometría Sagrada que había caracterizado la profesionalidad del cantero-albañil medieval, fue sustituida por los imperativos de modas desnortadas, pero que todavía conserva su preciosa galería porticada, remando de frescor y armonía y una portada principal, que, prácticamente única en su género, denota la posible labor de una misteriosa cofradía, que, al igual que los aventureros monjes que acompañaron en sus odiseas al santo Brandán, bien pudieran haber tenido su origen en la Verde Erín: la lejana Irlanda.
