Hello Steemit, meet my new male duck! I'm looking for a name for him so if anything comes to mind, leave it in the comments. He was standoffish at the market honestly, wouldn't come to me when I tried to pet him and was honestly pretty feisty. I think he was just mad at the temperatures and lack of a water source.
I just got a kick out of the look of him, his demeanor and the fact that he was a full sized duck. We've also gotten lots more midsized ducks as you can see and our first are getting big. I spend a bit of time every day trying to pet and cuddle them while they freak out. Once we got this guy home and hosed him down (sprayed him with a mist of water, he was so excited when we did it, running directly into it and lifting his wings to saturate them. He jumped around and wiggled his butt, and now he's my favorite duck as you can tell.
Some of the first ducks we got, quite upset that I was withholding food for pictures.
Lookit that duck! In the background you can see the females that should be laying eggs soon. We intend to breed our own ducks as well as eat the eggs, I'm excited to try them!
Something about the face and the cool colored eyes got me at the bird vendor, and he's the only duck that currently lets me pet him without giving me shit, so long as I spritz him first with water.
The tail is another adorable part, as he wiggles it in excitement. When I look down on him from the house he wiggles his but in response after moving his head to look at me.
We have so many different colors and shades of ducks and I'm very excited. From white to tan to gray, we've got them. Some have brown bills with red tips, which should be interesting. Some are black!
These two girls give me an idea of what our spotted ducks might look like when they're older. If so, I'm more than happy with that as they're super pretty.
We got the three large ducks for 350 pesos, less than 20 USD.
We've had some losses, but that's expected especially considering we've never had ducks before. I've never even held a duck before the ducks we have at the house and yesterday was my first day holding a large duck, who was freaked out. I intend to try to hold him soon again now that he's not as stressed.
So there you have it, as you can tell I'm pretty excited about the new additions. I'll take some photos of the chickens, small and large as they're equally pretty. And we've finally found the hookup on quails, and have now replenished our stock a little bit.
Thanks for following and supporting us, until next time!
very nice beautiful birds

Your duck collection is lovely!
The male's face made me think of the Red Skull from Captain America. So maybe you could name him Red, Skull, or Hugo (after Hugo Weaving, the actor who plays the Red Skull).

I suggest you name him Foghorn, from the cartoon character Foghorn Leghorn.![](https://steemitimages.com/640x0/https://i.imgur.com/pjavObG.jpg)
He looks a little like him.
