LSCOTTPHOTOS PhotoPoll #4 - What are your photography goals?

in photography •  8 years ago

Whether photography is your hobby, your profession, or just a fleeting moment you share with your cell phone, any photos will benefit from the creation of goals.

This brings us to the fourth question of the PhotoPoll…

What are your photography goals?

My goals can be broken into both short term and long term.

My short-term goals include improving the quality of my Steemit photography blog and as a result, gaining more steem power.

My long-term goal is to finish my “Domestic Bliss” photo series, which will feature self-portraits. I want to create a visual representation of an internal emotional struggle. I’ve shown one of the photos before in the last PhotoPoll, but I am undecided if this will be a final image in the series.

Now it's your turn! Whether big or small, crazy or sane, what are your goals when it comes to photography?

Ideas and advice for questions in the next PhotoPoll can also be suggested (and would be much appreciated)!

Thanks @lscottphotos for keeping the Steem photography community lively through your inspired images and polls.

For the last few years, I've been exploring how to empower people through photography to connect and expand their perceptions about the world through imagery, both personally and collectively.

That fits right in with what you and @jamtaylor were discussing, and something I'd like to write more about here on Steem in time.

I also run a daily photo community and have been posting there for 12+ years. After all that time, it can be a drag to keep up posting new images, but then sometimes like this week I get inspired with a new series or idea which brings new life. Overall, it has been a great record of life over that time and the evolution of my photography.

I'd like to work on a project based around 'life on the fringes' of society, featuring portraits of individuals that belong to groups that are ostracised in conservative society, and tell their stories. This would be done in a photo book format.

I think that is a fabulous idea. I really enjoy following HONY on Facebook for this same reason, Brandon takes photos of people that I would normally never get the chance to meet or hold a discussion with. I think a photo book like what you are describing is a really great thing to be doing. Using art to communicate and bring awareness :) Thank you for commenting!
