“It is a big world, full of things that steal your breath and fill your belly with fire...But where you go when you leave isn't as important as where you go when you come home.”

good art

Best place in the world is home.

That picture is great for several reasons:

  1. The beetle in the foreground which is the subject of the picture How did you make it cooperate?

  2. The visible crystal structure of the metal handrail. It's not very common nowadays to see metal parts that shows their crystal
structures (grain boundaries, see note at the end of comment), that is so specific that gives the sensation of being there.

  3. The blurred background with the lighthouse (a powerful enough image, to be itself the subject of any picture), playing second fiddle to the little insect.

  4. Finally the weather and choppy waves complete an ambiance that would indeed a lot of words to be conveyed.

Note on point 2:

As atoms of melted metal begin to pack together to form a crystal lattice at the freezing point, groups of these atoms form tiny crystals. These tiny crystals increase in size by the progressive addition of atoms. [...] The interface formed between them is called a grain boundary. Grains are sometimes large enough to be visible [...] to the unaided eye.
