Check out this photo from yesterday's 911 Memorial lights...

It was a long hot day yesterday (90+ degrees) in NYC and I finally made it home. I would have stayed out later but sometimes the heat sucks the life force out of you.

But as a photographer living in the digital age we don't have to wait to develop film and we can see our results when we get home.

I shot 223 images but I wanted to at least edit one. Editing is mood based and I'm sure if I were to edit it with a fresher mind it'd turn out a bit different.

I'll be sure to write a blog post in the near future as today was pretty interesting. Especially when it came to chatting with people mourning their loved ones at the New Jersey September 11th memorial over at the Eagle Rock Reservation.

So with all that being said check out this photo taken just after sunset in Pier 5 in Brooklyn Bridge Park, NYC.

LOVE this.

My College roommate was part of local 1 IA, he's a lighting guy, and did the Light Install, both on the original one, and the latest
His photos, from INSIDE the lights looking straight up, look so breathtaking

That's crazy! It's probably blinding if you're looking straight at it! LOL

Each beam you see above is really a few dozen high intensity theatrical lamps. Arranged around the original footprint of the towers

Huh - good to know. Perhaps I'll mention it next year!

great picture
