Built In Shelves Painting - Before/After

in photography •  7 years ago  (edited)

I was bored this early AM so I decided to prime a built in shelve set-up using Zinsser. The primer is an oil-based cover stain blocker and bond coat. It is of high quality and is recommended for most projects. Even though it is oil-based, it can be painted with a water-base.

Good Job!

I'm a painter myself. That stuff does work good. I got some before pics of an apartment I'm working in. It is almost finished, then I can make a blog about it!

Steem on brother!

Post them up here. People love photos of before/during/after work of renovation work.

Wow, It really covered up and looks really good. Nice job!

Thanks! Now everyone in the house is complaining about the horrible smell. That stuff has such a strong smell!

Well, the good thing about any smell.. It will go away. I guess it's a small price we pay!

https://busy.org/@raysa/culinary-specialties-satay-and-grilled-meatballs-de89080dc91a9. @money-dreamer .I'm tired of waiting for payment from you, I feel very aggrieved. You ask me to send sbd then you pay expensive. But after I send 0.500sbd on and send ling it turns out you do not want to pay me posting.Mungkin you forget at that time because too much send me sbd. I think this time you want to pay it on another LING ..@money-dreamer you can pay on the ling that is on top at this time. I'm glad you want to pay it. BY @raysa your followers friends

Hi @raysa Sorry for the confusion. I see these transactions:

Where did you see me asking for you to send me SBD? There may have been a miscommunication due to language barriers.

I will return the 0.5 SBD to you as soon as I get it in my account (within 24 hours).

but if there are any problems ... you can give them to me ... !!! @ money-dreamer if I need them to be able to leave this country in disgrace .. !!! I am a Venezuelan desperate for this crisis .. and I would be very helpful some SBD ...

I sent the funds. Thanks for the notice!

Thanks for sharing now i know youre not just a bot giving away the goods! 😜 came by to say thankyou 😘

Half bot/half man.

Haha hopefully one day i learn how to build a bot 🤖

Wow thanks! The other things i came across weren’t very newbie-friendly. Hope these i can follow. I appreciate cha!

Never heard of that product, but did a hell of a job!

Oh yeah! That stuff covers just about anything. It is interior/exterior, also. And, it can be sanded once it dries.

Looks great. Good job. It's all about the details.

I could have sanded it first, but I just scrubbed it with a brillo pad and painted it. It would take away from the character if I sanded it too much.

Were you unable to sleep or woke up from sleep? Or were you dreaming about it? Haha Sorry, these are just my silly mind-thoughts. It is looking pretty good after a makeover. One suggestion if you like to hear, You can outline it with someother dark color. :)

I got a strange sleeping pattern. That is a really good idea. There is another room in this house that has some old wood work that has dark colored paint in rectangles along a bench that is underneath these windows. I'll post a photo when I clean up the area a bit.

Doesn't that pattern annoy you? Or you are used to it now! ;)
I am glad you liked my idea. Sure will like to see that photo and put more suggestions if I come up with any after seeing.

It's not often you find built in shelves, but they always look awesome. Your touch-up really made it stand out.

True. It is an old house (1880's I believe). They built houses with so much more quality back then. It is amazing because they didn't have the technology we have now. It seems like house quality has declined since then. Haverhill, MA was a rich city back then. I believe it was known as a "shoe capital" or something of that nature before all the manufacturing jobs were sent overseas.

Here is some more information if anybody is interested:

I guess architects and carpenters took more pride in their work back then. Now it's all about mass production and moving on to the next project, so I imagine it's hard to pour your soul into every product. these days.

It's all about the profit margins.

It's the thought that counts. I'm a principle based person :)

This is because of a few factors such as low voting power, low voting percentage and/or steem power, etc,.

its really a good job, the old shelves looks new.

Thanks! I will probably put another coat on it when I prime the trim in that room.

good job

After having a deep look on these pictures I presume they have changed from vintage to the modern era.
thats great finish

I'm not sure I follow. What makes you think this?

Theyre saying you did a good job with the painting and it has “updated” the look of the shelf (:

yes good explaination..
