L’Italia Photo Marathon
Ogni anno, in diverse città di Italia, si organizza l’Italia Photo Marathon… una manifestazione che quest’anno ha toccato Genova, Piacenza, Roma, Perugia, Milano, Torino e Palermo.
Come funziona
La maratona ha un regolamento abbastanza semplice: durante la giornata vengono dati diversi Temi e ogni partecipante gira per la città e cerca di ottenere almeno un buono scatto per ognuno dei temi… a fine manifestazione il partecipante consegnerà le proprie foto e in seguito una giuria premierà una foto per tema.
Io ho partecipato alla maratona nella mia città Palermo, svoltasi il 15 ottobre e in questo articolo vi propongo il mio bottino fotografico. Premetto che non sono riuscito a trovare un buono scatto per ognuno dei temi ed in particolare ho consegnato solo 5 foto (relative a 5 diversi temi).
Primi tre temi
Alle ore 10:00 hanno dato i primi tre temi:
- Luci, colori, storie
- Sempre più in alto
- Santuzze, cappidduzzi, marunnuzze (Santuzze, cappellini, madonnine)
I primi temi non sono stati di semplice interpretazione e infatti per le prime ore della giornata ho girovagato senza ispirazione… infine ho trovato un paio di situazioni interessanti e questo è quello che ne è venuto fuori.

Italia Photo Marathon
Every year, in different italian cities, takes place Italia Photo Marathon... a photographic marathon that this year has touched Genoa, Piacenza, Rome, Perugia, Milan, Turin and Palermo.
How does it work
The marathon has a fairly simple rule: during the day there are several themes and each participant turns to the city and tries to get at least a good shot for each of the themes... At the end of the event the participant will deliver his own photos and then a jury will award a photo by theme.
I participated at the marathon in city, Palermo, which took place on October 15 and in this post I’m proposing my photographic booty. I didn’t find a good shot for each of the themes and in particular I delivered only 5 photos (related to 5 different themes).
First three issues
At 10:00 am they gave the first three themes:
- Lights, colors, stories
- Higher and higher
- Santuzze, cappidduzzi, marunnuzze (Sicilian words not translatable)
The first themes were not easy to interpret and in fact for the first few hours of the day I wandered without inspiration... finally I found a couple of interesting situations and that's what came out.

Alle 13:00 hanno fornito altri tre temi:
- Fermenti contemporanei
- Bello da mangiare
- Vite vissute
Qui gli argomenti sono risultati più tangibili, ma nonostante questo non sono riuscito a scattare una foto per ognuno di essi, ecco i risultati di questa seconda sessione.

Una foto che ritrae l’opera d’arte (realizzata a Luglio di quest’anno) di Rosk e Loste, due street artists che si sono ispirati alla famosa foto di Tony Gentile che a sua volta ritrae i giudici Falcone e Borsellino.

At 13:00 they provided three other themes:
- Contemporary Ferments
- Beautiful to eat
- Lived lives
Here the arguments were more tangible, but despite this I could not take a picture for each of them, here are the results of this second session.
Contemporary Ferments
A photo portraying Rosk and Loste's artwork (of this July), two street artists inspired by Tony Gentile's famous photo, which portrays Judges Falcone and Borsellino.

Durante la maratona mi è capitato di entrare in un palazzo storico palermitano per cercare ispirazione, tra i visitatori c’era anche lei...

Ultimi tre temi
Alle 16:00 hanno comunicato gli ultimi 3 temi:
- Inseparabili
- Com’è profondo il mare
- Al calar della sera
Penso che per quest’ultima sessione avrei potuto impegnarmi di più, ma si era fatto tardi e, dopo aver camminato tutto il giorno in giro per la mia città, mi sentivo stanco, così ho perso l’opportunità di scattare per il tema Al calar della sera in quanto al calar della sera ero già a casa in pantofole… e analogamente ho perso l’opportunità di presentare uno scatto per Com’è profondo il mare in quanto non ho avuto il tempo (né la voglia) di raggiungere zone di mare.
Comunque ho portato a casa un risultato, ed in particolare la foto per il tema inseparabili.

At 4pm they announced the last 3 topics:
- Inseparable
- How deep is the sea
- At nightfall
I think for the last session I could have been engaged, but it was late and after walking all day around my town, I felt tired, so I missed the opportunity to hit the theme Al nightfall as at nightfall I was already home in slippers... and likewise I lost the opportunity to submit a shot for How deep is the sea as I did not have the time (nor the will) of reach sea areas.
However I brought home a result, and in particular the photo for the inseparable theme.

hai fatto un lavoro. Cavolo girare in città' alla ricerca di foto a tema dev'essere anche un pochino frustrante.
A me piace moltissimo la tua entry per "sempre più in alto"....mi sembra un pò ipnotico. Bravo!
