Osaka at Night
I love shooting cities in the rain at night!
Carrying an umbrella, tripod and camera is a bit cumbersome but the results were so very much worth it!
This is one of my favourite pictures of Osaka, just an intersection with people waiting to cross the street, but filled with light, colour and refections!
Only cloudy this night. The Dotombori Bridge, in the centre of the frame, is always a hub of activity: tourists taking pictures of the "Glico Man" sign, dozens of restaurants, and numerous 'hosts' trying to entice women to come to their host club for some expensive companionship and drinks.
Very close to the modern medium rise buildings around central Namba district the Dotombori bridge above are much quieter streets packed cheek to jowl with old restaurants, bars and Japanese style pubs called Izakaya. Be careful in this area: if the prices aren't listed on the menu, your wallet could be feeling some pain at the end of the evening.
Old Grime encrusted lanterns set the atmosphere which hasn't changed much for many many years and speak of the history that has passed while this restaurant has served its customers.
Vote and follow if this short journey through Osaka has been to your liking. :)
Impressive photos. I particularly like the second one. Such contrast between the soothing waters and busy street lights.

Glad to hear it, everyone always goes to Tokyo and Kyoto but don't really stop in Osaka as much. There's still lots to do and see here!

Thank you Zorro, the light is the best part of shooting at night. Long exposure times can even bring up reflections off dry streets, though it needs to be at a narrow angle, the closer to a straight line the better.
