Hanging around

in photography •  7 years ago  (edited)

Sometime at work I come accross a situation where we can not get lift equipment in the area, the work is too high for a ladder, and the cost of setting up a swing stage vs the ammount of work needed done dosent balance out. In those situations we harness up and drop over the side. Here are a couple pictures of me repelling down a small building at the UCSD medical center scripps, to repair a window.

Its days like these that make my job fun. Had my apprentace at the time take the pitures on my camera, he was just sitting on the roof guarding my safety lines anyway.

Nice pictures. I wish I could do this but my phobia for height just won :)

Thanks, glad you liked them. The trade is not for everyone, ive seen many guys quit the first day after going up in a boom lift, swing stage or even just after being on the edge of the buildig working for a couple hours. For those without the fear of heights its an interesting exciting job to have.
