TONIGHT: Aurora watch - more geomagnetic storms tonight! - With original pic [Auroras over Greenland]

"GEOMAGNETIC STORMS CONTINUE: G1-class geomagnetic storms are ringing Earth's poles on Sept. 29th as a high-speed (600+ km/s) stream of solar wind continues to buffet our planet's magnetic field." Spaceweather

If you live in more northern regions, head out tonight around/after midnight, and you will hopefully be able to see one of the most amazing space related phenomena I've encountered. Sadly, many people have never seen them, but tonight may be your shot.

Heres what happened last night to give you an idea of when the action may be:

So tonight, head on over to http://www.aurorawatch.ca/ and keep an eye on how intense things are getting. Alternately, This picture should stay live, and if the color gets close to where you live, chances are you will see them:

EDIT: It seems that steemit grabbed the pic from when I posted, but does not update to the newest map. Click here to see the current map: http://services.swpc.noaa.gov/images/animations/ovation-north/latest.png

And for some fresh content, here is a photo I took of the Auroras dancing over Greenland. It was so cool to watch them for an hour or 2 just dancing across the sky, with nothing but the stars, and white snow below (when the clouds let me see down to Greenland itself)

I might try to head somewhere dark tonight, thanks for the heads up friend.

Really cool photo too.

Best of luck! They move around pretty fast, so don't go for a very long exposure... Maybe 5-15 seconds max.

Really cool man, you should check out the "Electric Universe Theory" these Auroras are some of the best evidence for that theory, peace and keep up the good work!

Thanks! I'll look into that, sounds interesting

Dang, that is a cool image. Like your traveling across time or something. Nice. Found you through Jam and glad I did. Following you now. Cheers.
