It's a bug, but not as we know it

As I was taking photos of bluebells, this, um, unusual insect walked towards me:

It's one of the weevils (Curculionoidea), but I haven't been able to identify which species it is.

Here's a photo where it continues on its way, seemingly unperturbed by the photographer. The grains of sand on the leaf give some idea of its size:

It's a weird weevil, but strangely cute.
