The Last Two

The last two species I have photos of, that is.

The first one I have only seen once. It is a green-eyed hawker (Aeshna isoceles), vroege glazenmaker in Dutch. I was lucky to get a shot before it took off, but it is not the best of photos:

Olympus XZ-1, 112mm, ISO200, f6.3, 1/125s

The second species is the ominous-looking black darter (Sympetrum danae), zwarte heidelibel in Dutch. Again, I haven't seen these often, and the photos could be better:

Olympus Stylus 1s, 300mm, ISO400, f8, 1/500s

Young males and females are partly yellow:

And that is the end of this series of photos, at least until I get another species in front of my camera; there are plenty more here in The Netherlands I haven't spotted yet.

Thanks for watching!

Let me know in the comments if you would like to see a similar series of photos of the smaller damselflies, or if you are truly fed up with photos of insects by now.

Awesome photo. Good job

I realy appreciate this pics so i need more.

Sick of the bugs? Not likely. Amazes me how many you find, and always great to see.

I may do a series on the little ones then.

Oh wow amazing! I have a few dragonfly inspired pieces of art in my art collection. You might say I think of them as my "spirit animal". Loving all the pics, followed!

Thanks!

Spectacular shots! I hope you have this whole series framed and hanging on a wall!
