The historic Lviv. Opera. Legend of the sculpture "Glory"

If you ask residents of Lviv  which of  monuments is the most famous, will hear the answer - Opera of Krushelnytska. Lviv residents never tire of repeating that our Opera has no equal in Ukraine, and it is one of the most beautiful in Europe (and the world).

In Lviv Opera and sculptures often overgrown with legends. Thus, the subject of one of the disputes that were in the city, was the main sculpture opera "Glory," which crowns the pediment of the building. Lviv University Professor Mars many years he taught obstetrics and gynecology, and somehow, walking with friends past the theater, argued that "Glory" is not by chance has a rounded tummy. Professor swore his scientific honor, that this is only the tummy in women in the fourth month of pregnancy.

    To confirm his words and win the bet, Mars went to sculptor who sculpted "Glory" and took him for a model who posed for him at work. In a model really was a child. Based on the date of her birth,  professor to confirm  and proved that our Lviv "Glory" is indeed pregnant.
