These fast little guys can be tough to photograph!
If you have been watching the @papa-pepper account, you know that I am often out in the woods interacting with many of the incredible creatures that roam around this planet. For years I have enjoyed photographing and filming them, and I am so glad to have the outlet that steemit provides. There are many tricks that certain photographers will use, like chilling a cold-blooded creature to make it sit still longer, but I prefer to take less manipulated photos.
That said, when you are dealing with fast little creatures like this Brown Snake, it is very difficult to get good photographs sometimes. Such was the case this time. I hope that you enjoy the few I did get, and you can check the proof photo for size comparison.

Found an Eastern Hognose snake along the side of the garage yesterday. Checked under the splashblocks for a toad but came up empty. Relocated it to the edge of the woods. It was big into the cobra pose!

Venomous or not, it takes a lot of bravery (and respect + love for snakes) for picking one up. I must also admire your photography skill - even if I managed to hold a camera in my badly shaking hands, after seeing a snake, I doubt if I can focus in time to take such clear and dynamic pictures. yesterday i was watching 4 water snakes hunting in shallow. long time i didnt seen anything better lol, and my 3yr old cant stop talking about it. too bad i didnt even had phone to make crappy video. im around rivers whole my life, but never seen such action. its like, they strike, and miss, or they strike, hit, and let the water carry them and fish downstream, and then other snake takes place. bah, im gonna get back there as soon as i can.

Great photos, especially for such a teeny tiny snake. Love all your posts but you should add some scientific names so we can get to know our critters better.
This is one of the only snakes I've ever managed to photograph. It's a slug eater (duberria lutrix) - completely harmless and fairly common in the Cape Town area. The Cape Cobras and Puffadders are definitely NOT to be picked up.

Do you like snakes? I do not like them for the fact that they bite humans. Be careful with snake especially poisonous ones unless you are armed with some quality snake venom.
They are no friends to humans unless tamed ones which I actually have never seen in real life.
I have heard that some people keep all manner of snakes as pets but that often makes me shudder at the thought of it. Not to say that it is bad but just thinking of the the choice of such as pets.

A lot of mammal bites are way worse than snake bites. This one is nonvenomous too, so that helps.

You are right in a way however, the tamed species of the animals you mentioned are not as dangerous as untamed snake. Venomous snakes can kill in seconds so never play with them. I am glad you said this specie is not venomous so you are safe.

Start somewhere. If you can find someone who has a Ball Python, they are a smaller, docile, python that basically will not bite you.
Many people are afraid of what they think snakes are, rather than what they actually are. Some snakes are very dangerous, that it a fact, but most post almost zero threat to anyone.
Also, you could try putting your face close to the screen first!
