This told me that we would have a rain storm today and it was spot on!
We awoke to rain this morning and it continued intermittently throughout the day. Not heavy rain like we were accustomed to on the highveld, but rather a soft drenching rain. Of course the water is always welcome and I took some mesmerizing shots of the rain clouds that I will show you in another post.
Let's have a look at this sunset!
Here is a more expanded view and note that the sun is behind the cloud above the mountain!
This is what it looked like just above the mountains!
And here we have the sun that now cleared out below the cloud and soon to be swallowed by the mountain!
Meanwhile, the moon was watching the sunset show from a safe distance away!
Talks to one's soul doesn't it, especially when the scenes are accompanied by the calls of birds and other animals that are preparing for the night. We hope that it will also bring some serenity and warmth to all of those who are now facing the winter colds.

Wow! You work late hours my friend? South Africa is famous for its sunsets and I am told that its even more spectacular in the areas where the mountains meet with the ocean. About 45 kms from us and one of these days I will go and have a look, Blessings!

It's dark by 4pm at this time of year. I used to live in the mountains in Germany and they had some great skies there. Some spectacular thunder storms too. You really are blessed with great landscapes and nature.

Wow again! It only gets dark here at 8pm and we are still not used to it, as in Johannesburg it gets dark much earlier. I am told it is because we are so close to the sea. Never been to Germany, or anywhere else for that matter, except up in Africa.

It's even worse if you go further north. For those up in the Arctic circle it may hardly get light at all in the middle of winter.
