Unexpected Sunday visitors at home!

in photography •  6 years ago

Surprise, surprise, on my way to the shop and someone is waiting at the gate to our cottage!

You know what it's like to get unexpected visitors and these two were hungry. But what food to give them, as we only had small dog (Adult) pellets for our little Troy. But of course the animal feeder (Marian) had a plan and she handed me two bowls of the pellets to lay out on the table for our guests.
They weren't impressed with my offerings at all.
See the story below!

I greeted our guests Impy (Warrior) and Jakkals (Jackal) by serving them Troy's pellets!

Here you can see that Impy said to Jakkals that we are very lax to serve them without a proper waiter on hand.

No problem, I fetched the government and all of a sudden they were so interested in the food that they had 2 bowls each.

Our guests do not have their own transport and after the hearty lunch, they now expected to be accompanied on their walk home.

As we approached their home a friend was waiting with an enquiring look on his face.

They both kept straight faces and didn't tell the friend where they had been. Instead they invited the friend for a drink.

Something they said to the friend at the tavern must have triggered the friend to pick up a branch, ready for the owners to give them a hiding for scrounging a free lunch.

But sadly the owner is far away laid up in hospital in a battle with Leukemia. We have journeyed with the owner since her diagnosis 3 years ago and stood by her all of the way (we have known them for 13 years). She has since had 2 Chemo treatments and recently the cancer resurfaced. At the moment she is in Israel, having T-cells repopulated. And we continue to support her in prayer.

So sorry to hear your friend is not well, as for the pooches they always find caring people to drop in and say hello. They sense Marion is another 'hand feeding softy', it is good to know they find friendly people when on their own. Have a wonderful new week.

@joanstewart I think that's the reason why we landed up here Lady Joan. God certainly works in mysterious ways and we have a long story about friendship and support with our friend Lady Cecilia that owns the place. We hope the doctors in Israel can help her, as this is her last resort. Blessings!

@papilloncharity, Great story! Your guests were satisfied with the warm welcome :). Their master gave them a good upbringing. I sympathize with the owner of these good dogs in connection with his illness. One can only hope.

@madlenfox the owner is a woman and her name is Cecilia. She was devastated as her favorite cat died while Cecilia was away in hospital and this only made life more difficult for Cecilia. We do what we can to help and the dogs will be okay now with us here. One can however sense that they miss Cecilia terribly, as they walked daily with her all over the farm, but now I walk with them on my photography walks. You are correct, one can only hope. Blessings!

@papilloncharity, It is very sad! I know that animals are also very attached to their owners and they are also very sad at parting. These dogs are lucky that you are familiar with their mistress - Cecilia , and they may well trust you. I was very touched by Your story.

Hello Impy and Jakkasls!
Sorry to hear about the owner. 💔

@joyrobinson a very sad story here, but they will be okay. Blessings!

Oh! I bet your two visitors miss her terribly! Hope that treatment works for her.

@melinda010100 at times when they sit and stare at the entrance gate to the farm, it is such a sad picture Lady Melinda. I know that they are pining for their beloved master. But we try to keep them busy. Blessings!

Shepherds are such loyal one person dogs that it must be particularly hard on them. Poor things.
