Miracles created for the poor!

in photography •  6 years ago  (edited)

During the months of September and October 2018, we scurried about like Jack rabbits as we had received a huge truckload of carton boxes filled with 60 nappies in each box.
As we are newly relocated to the Western Cape Province, after 16 years of service in the area of Gauteng, we had to find a distribution solution as the plan was to help the poor in the rural farming towns.

Thankfully we had built up much experience during our time in Gauteng, having distributed 422.5 tons of donated goods to poor areas across the country, so what's it to distribute another 0.5 tons? And so here's a tip for all that want to donate bulk goods or items to the poor. Place a call for free in the community bulletins of the local radio station. We were soon flooded with requests for adult nappies by frail care centers, disabled children homes and community members.
Need I say that we responded with alacrity!

Here's a story that you have to READ!

*Rachel is a young school girl that lives in a rural township. She lives with her grandmother, as her parents died and recently her grandmother had a stroke rendering her bed ridden. So little Rachel contacted us pleading for nappies, as her grandmother only receives a tiny state grant and they have to spend some of it to buy nappies, leaving Rachel to sleep hungry at times during the month. Fortunately and I say this with a heavy heart, Rachel's grandmother will recover some of her walking abilities, but during her convalescence period she has to use adult nappies.

"Whatever you did for one of the least of these, you did it to Me...…." Matthew 25: 35-40

Note: We issue these reports for accountability purposes, as this is the reason why The Papillon Foundation in South Africa has lasted so long. Although we have now relocated, we are now with @papilloncharity in our 17th year of operation.

In fact my question was; 1. to seek advice about how we are to awaken many steemians to the need for charity support? And 2. How to go about to expose the @papilloncharity brand in order to get more votes?

Since June 2017 @papilloncharity has worked hard to post quality and we have always tried to keep things simple by posting, commenting and voting. It seems that this is not enough as only this week have we reached the 1000 followers mark. Note that it resulted mostly from my nature posts and not the charity posts?

This leads me to our algorithm and the bot questions. Is something wrong with our algorithm? Does anybody know about these things? And bots? Where and what, or not?

Are there any kind hearted whizzes that can sort these things out for us?

Hi Stephen. Voting progress on steem seems to be in the most part about connections. Getting to know as many people as possible.

A big, big chunk of that connecting is done through the Discord servers. But that can be very time consuming.

Hats off to you Sir, all you do for the community and those around you is amazing tip!

Thank you for the tip and the kind words JJ. we simply try our best and all that we have is grace, as the glory belongs to our Lord. Blessings.

@c-squared , @qurator , @pennsif , @sircork , @dropahead , @ned . I have a question for you! How can a post that I placed about Dragonflies earn 204 votes and $6, but a post like this of so much more worth earn only a tippence? I have my own views, but I would like to hear yours.

A lot moved in a short period of time helping local residents @papilloncharity well done!

Thank you Lady Joan, it takes special people to appreciate what we do and you are one of them. Blessings!
