    You don't see many passages like this in modern buildings. I guess people might think it's wasteful use of space. But I think it's a good detail. The arch adds interest and the visual break in the building is nice.

    Yes, it's a nice retro style. In many Russian cities there are streets with buildings in this style, built in the 1950s
