Travel the World with Me - Photo #6 (Sadhus at Kumbh Mela, India)

in photography •  7 years ago  (edited)

Kumbh is a great once-in-a-lifetime experience. For a photographer, more so. With such a huge gathering of people, you are bound to find interesting characters. But what makes for the best shots are the Sadhus at Kumbh Mela. The Sadhus and Naga babas were one of the main reasons we wanted to visit the Kumbh Mela.

Naga babas take a lifetime vow of celibacy and are in so much control of their senses that they stay naked. They smear ash on their bodies and are revered in India.
