These tasty mushrooms have finally fruited here in the Montana mountains. This one is as big as my hand!

They are hard to spot, as they like to hide in the tall grasses.

But once you find one, you are sure to find more. A delicious treat for dinner tonight!

That's awesome, I love photographing mushrooms and fungi, but I've never come across a morel. Awesome find!!! Enjoy them, I hear they're really tasty.

Morels grow all over the country by rivers and streams. You might be able to find some in your area. They were quite delicious!

OMG. Fry in duck fat or butter and you have damn near my favorite treat. EnJOY!

Butter and garlic was my flavor tonight. Yesterday I cooked them in olive oil. Duck fat would be AMAZING!!!

Fact. It's hard to get 'em wrong. As far as know, we have to import 'em down here in San Diego, but a distant cousin on the East Coast as an eye for morels and keeps inviting me to come along for the hunt. Tempting!

Yeah, maybe in the foothills around there, but might be too warm. They grow late in Montana.
