My Introduction to Photography
I got my first DLSR camera this week and I'm excited. I'm inexperienced in the realm of photography and am trying to learn how it's done. I'm a firm believer that anything can be learned on the internet so I'm putting that to the test.
The Camera I chose is a Canon Rebel T100. It came in a bundle with two lenses (18-55 mm and 75-300 mm) I chose this one because it was a good mix between features and price.
I also picked up a tripod because my end-game goal is to be able to get clear pictures of the Milky Way and I hear that a tripod is a must have for nighttime photography. I have done a bit of research on how to take photos of the stars but I will need to learn the features of my camera before I'm producing anything decent. I'm lucky to live in a part of the world with limited light pollution outside of the city that I live in, so I will not need to drive too far out of my way in order to practice.
I have been taking pictures of anything that crosses my line of sight in the last 24 hours, mostly mundane objects. Here is one I took of the trees outside of my apartment at sunset.
One of my turtle, Marv; I have had her for about 12 years. I love how she seems as curious about the camera as I am. In actuality she is giving me the stink eye. She's quite friendly to others but has never liked me too much; maybe because I gave her a man's name before she got old enough to tell that she was female.
I will be enrolling in a Skillshare course for beginner photography very soon, once I have some time to sit down and do it. I will also be scouring Steem for advice and inspiration in the coming months (and years).
Well well well father of Marv and new friend in steemterminal what a great blog! I love the shots and am jealous of the camera. Well executed columns and you do have a footer. Thank you for the shout out, I wish you a great journey here and am looking forward to the new blogs
