Mechanics is a branch of physics that studies how the position of bodies changes, a change called mechanical motion. Founded by physicist Isaac Newton in his famous work Philosophiae Naturalis Principia Mathematica, classical mechanics studies the laws of mechanical movement of macroscopic bodies moving at low speeds compared to the speed of light. Subsequently, physicist Albert Einstein generalized classical mechanics by creating relativistic mechanics capable of describing body movements at high speeds. Finally, to study the movement of microscopic bodies, quantum mechanics was created.
