The time in the stands is probably the most fun for many of the band members. They play "stands songs" during the first, second, and fourth quarters of the game, and they get the third quarter free to visit the concessions stands and socialize with the other students. Stands songs include well known pieces like "The Hey Song", "September", "Iron Man", "The Imperial March" and many others.

At the beginning of the season, the cheerleaders get a recording of some of the common pieces, and they have routines that are timed to match with the music. In addition to being fun for the students, this is also great musical entertainment for the spectators and it adds to the drama of the game.

The remainder of this post will contain a photo essay depicting the stands experience during the Rustin football game at Kennett on September 14. Unless otherwise stated, all photos are original and were taken using an LG-G4 cell phone. You can open any of the photos in a new tab to enlarge it.

Cheerleaders

I think this was probably the first game where I was able to get any clear photos of Rustin's cheerleaders from my seat in the stands.

Conclusion

As we've noted in previous posts, Rustin took the game, 28-7 ending the night with a record of 2 wins and 1 loss. Of course, along with the nice weather of the evening, the win made the stands experience even more enjoyable.

Please check back for upcoming posts with photo essays from the September 21 game against Penn Wood and the September 28 game against Coatesville.

Also, I couldn't make it to the event, but today the band is at the USMC invitational band competition in Annapolis, MD. So please wish them well!

The account's purpose is to demonstrate the viability of a fund-raising model that is based on use of the Steem block chain in the community. The account's goal for 2018 is to raise enough money to send one student on the Rustin Golden Knight Marching Band's trip from Pennsylvania to Florida in December for performances in the Citrus Parade and in Disney.
