Post-game wrap-up: Congratulations to the Rustin Golden Knights football team for last night's 42-6 victory over Academy Park! Now ranked #39 in the state of Pennsylvania, Rustin moves on to playoff round #3 against 59th ranked Penn Wood.
Tonight is round two of Rustin High School's football playoffs this year. The marching band will not be doing an on-field show, but will be in the stadium with "stands music" to entertain the audience and help cheer the team on.
The game is listed as "neutral", which is presumably why it's being played at Strath Haven, in Sharon Hill, PA instead of one of the competing high schools.
I'm told that it's a dirt football field, so that should be interesting. Also, the Strath Haven High School's parking lot will be in use for a fall drama at 7:30 pm, so football fans are directed to carpool if possible, and to park in the middle school's parking lot.
Weather is predicted to be clear, in the mid-thirties (F) with wind chill in the mid-high twenties (F).
Game time is 7pm. Here are some stats
Team | Pennsylvania Rank | Wins | Losses |
---|---|---|---|
Academy Park | 74 | 9 | 2 |
Rustin | 61 | 8 | 2 |
Update: It may be worth noticing that one of Academy Park's two losses came to Penn Wood (state rank #58) two weeks ago, in their last regular season game. Penn Wood beat Academy Park, 40-20. Earlier in the season, the Golden Knights also played Penn Wood, and won the game 43-28. Rustin's two losses this year came from West Chester East (state rank #202) and Coatesville (state rank #2). It doesn't look like Academy Park has seen either of those teams.
