The First Blooms Of Spring

in photography •  7 years ago

It's March and the trees are beginning to bud here in sunny Arkansas... This was my view out of my front window this morning...

At last, I can sleep with my windows open!

Blooms already? I am really jealous. We're facing down another snow storm on Tuesday.

You never know... The weather here is so weird, we might get snow next week! I've seen it happen, in 2001. in March the trees started budding and we got hit with 8 inches of snow!

I'm jealous. I'm in West Michigan and there ain't nothin' buddin' up here yet!

You still have snow don't you? My kids live in Harrison... I went to college in Mt Pleasant.

Snow will be gone by the end of the day except where I've piled it up for clearing the drive and walks. We have sunny and 40 degrees right now : ) I remember your post (or maybe comments) on the recent shootings up there of a student killing his parents. You mentioned you went to school there.

That's right, his parents went to pick him up for spring break and he shot them... I'm still not sure if they caught him.

They did catch him same day I think. Tragic. Thanks for the exchange!

lucky, we still got snow on the ground here

It is going to take a little longer to reach Iowa. Spring is my favorite season particularly May. Thanks @richq11

Usually the Crocus show up first- this year it's the Bradford pears.

Nice shot. I love Ft Smith area especially Quachita National Forest. I have even been diving in Lake Quachita. Very cold down towards the bottom.

I need to get off my lazy butt and drive to one of our cemeteries... The Bradford pears are in bloom and beautiful! The Ouachitas are beautiful. I have a buddy that has a cabin down there but I haven't been in 5 or so years!

Yes indeed. I had a great time up there. I am in Austin, Texas so it is a little of a drive for me.

Nice view and wonderful shot

Looking good, Imagine Arkansas has a diversity of plants and trees to enjoy.

Great news! Me too, like most of us, always love to see the first blooming, or the first bug passing my way .....
We have to wait some more weeks, it's still cold and frosty over here. :)
