Bees Kind of Fascinate Me

I don't know what it is, but I really like taking pictures of bees. I am super allergic to them, I remember one time when I was about 13, I was out and riding my bike I stopped at a park to get a drink from the water fountain. I hopped off my bike and leaned over the fountain, bringing my head down to get a drink when this searing pain broke through my face. A bee was under the metal piece that is designed to make it so water doesn't splash on your face. It had apparently taken a break from the sun and was trying to get some water itself. Instead, he flew up and stung me on the inside of the lip.

My face got swollen and I looked silly for days. They say I need an epi-pen if I am stung, but truth be told, it is the only time I have ever been stung. I don't hold a grudge though. Especially in recent years, as we learn just how important bees are. I can appreciate a species that defends itself with a stinger and some rage. I am human afterall.

This last one is a bit fuzzy, but i liked how to flower came into focus.

I made this last one with another of the more fuzzy images. I like the effect though - kind of hipster artsy bee.
