Beautiful Cliffs of Guernsey, Channel Islands - Part 2 - Photography and Art

I have been staying on the island of Guernsey these past few weeks seeing family and escaping the New Zealand winter. Guernsey is one of the channel islands and is located within the English Channel and is the island where I was born.

One of my favourite areas of Guernsey is the beautiful south coast cliffs in which there are some amazing views. I have been out again with my camera getting photo reference for paintings. 

Here are some of my photos, some of which I am going to use for paintings.

As mentioned in my previous Guernsey cliffs blog, I love this view. This is Icart Point in St Martins in the south of Guernsey.

I took these photos at around 9 o'clock in the morning so there were different light angles and a very vibrant morning light.

Many of the Guernsey cliffs are characterised by pink granite rocks.

The sea gets pretty wild along the south coast as currents feed into the English Channel from the Atlantic Ocean.

This is Petit Bot beach on a much calmer day. I went plein air painting in this spot.

Another view from Icart Point, I will most likely paint this view.

This was a drawing I did last month of the south coast cliffs of Guernsey which I used to plan the composition for a painting.
