Flower Power Saturday

in photography •  7 years ago

Hi Guys

I captured these images outside our offices in Durban , South Africa. I am honestly not sure what flowers they are , but up close they look like little trumpets.
The entire hedge was in full bloom, this flower seems to flourish in winter. If anyone can identify this flower I would highly appreciate it.

I captured all images with my Samsung Galaxy S5.

They are very festive! A nice way to brighten winter.

I totally agree! Thank you @onetree. I still prefer your lifestyle. Every time I read your posts I always think how well you would do in a reality show like Auction Hunters... I do know we had The South Pawn Shop on DSTV, it would be cool if they started an Auction Hunters show in South Africa. I would be a fan of yours for sure!

My husband would be amazing!!! If I could persuade him to be on TV. So many people tell him they go to auction just to see him in action!

May I suggest maybe recording him in action and posting the vid on Steemit. I would love to see him operate!

Hahahaha; I shall have to do so sneakily.

Nice photos, my friend!
I wonder what kind they are?
....upvoted and resteemed!
Let's make some steem!

I just saw the other reply...honeysuckle! I think we have these in Canada!

Hi @acwood my good friend. @giantbear provided some truly awesome information regarding these beauties of mother nature. Being a member of the steemit community has reassured me about the true nature of mankind. I am truly grateful for this amazing platform for it not this platform I would never have met a kind soul like yourself and many many others! Thank you so much for the support and your generosity by sending my post to @booster.

Hi @sashin, my friend!
Well, I look at it this way: We have known each other since almost the first day we started this adventure here on Steemit. We have a certain bond between us. You have always supported me and I have supported you. To me Steem is an imaginary currency and as such it really has cost me nothing except some time to write a few articles which I probably would have wasted otherwise and it is something I enjoy dong. I have always thought the "Best Deal" is a win/win situation. I have sent a little steem to a couple of people just beginning on here and they have never acknowledged it. That is sad.
Helping other people to succeed will help me succeed....I really believe this. From the little I know of you I think you hold the same core beliefs as I do.
I can count my real true friends on one hand. It has always been that way for me. There is almost nothing I would not do for my friends because they are important to me.
I consider you "my friend" and true friends really are the greatest gift that we can receive in life!

Onwards and Upwards my friend!

As the theme song of the movie "Toy Story" goes , "You got a friend in me ....."

Buzz Light Year , " Onwards and Upwards"
PS: My whole family knows about @acwood my Canadian friend. You can expect their support as well:)

Is there a reward poster somewhere in South Africa with my picture on it! Haha!
Thanks, my friend.
Who are the relatives so I can follow them?

Woah it looks awesome.

Hi @elsbailey6. Thank you for the comment!

Honey suckle! You can suck the nectar out of the flower. Pull off the front leaves and suck on the part that stays behind. Very sweet. Tastes good! 😁

Hi @giantbear. Wow seriously! Thank you so much! I am going to try it out on Monday... If you don't see anymore posts from me thereafter I have over eaten flowers :)

Ha ha ha...no I'm serious..we've sucked on a lot of these over the years. I got this from the internet for you. If you find a perfectly ripe honeysuckle, then mmmmm, the nectar is SO good. ... It smells wonderful, attracts hummingbirds, and,the nectar tastes utterly divine. Bonus information: the flower itself actually has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties!

I truly appreciate you researching this information. You have me totally intrigued with the bonus information. I have this fascination with understanding how our world and universe operates , and I am always learning more which leads to me asking more questions. You truly are a pillar of knowledge and I truly appreciate your friendship.
