Wooowwwwwwwwww, I've never ever seen so many wild bears in my life! It was insane and it felt like I was walking in an episode of National Geographic. Look at this bear family relaxing along the river, so freaking cute :)
To come to Brooks River Falls you have to go by floatplane (an 1,5 hour flight from Homer to Brooks River Falls). We went with Bald Mountain air service and it was really great organized and the pilot was really nice as well. I've never been in a floatplane before, so I thought it was gonna be a bumpy ride, but it wasn't that at all. It was a very good flight and the pilot was doing a great job landing on the water.
We flew right over this beautiful volcano, which is still active. There are many volcanoes up there, so this is only one of them.
@ Brooks River Falls
Right after we got the information about the rules and watched the clip about "what to do when you see a bear", we stuffed our food & drinks, because the only thing you could bring was water. The Rangers told us to go straight to the bridge to cross over the river, because sometimes the bears hang out there and then it won't be possible to cross the river. So we walked to the bridge and suddenly we saw a bear in the water nearby the bridge and he was so close.
And then he decided to go out of the water and walked right to us.
So we had to go back to the visitors center, because there were coming more bears from everywhere and that is when the bears came really close :), look at this beautiful mom and her cubs.
More bears :)
