This is some of the photos I took with my phone while in the Isles of Scilly, a group of islands 28 miles off the southwest coast of Cornwall.
This is Green Porth beach, Tresco, the Old Blockhouse on the hill.
The Old Man of Gugh, a menhir (standing stone) dating back to the Bronze age, around 3,500 years ago.

Coulorful boats that take visitors from St. Mary's to the off islands and on trips to see the Bishop Rock and local wildlife.

There's white sand and palm trees but the sea is really cold, so that keeps a lot of the tourists away. The air temperature is usually warmer than other places this north of the equator, due to the golf stream. I've seen white sand on some of the Scottish and Irish islands as well.
