It's been a while since I last calibrated my laptop monitor, so today I decided to re-calibrate it and share with you guys the process. I use a calibrated monitor in my photography workflow to achieve precise color accuracy which helps when I edit photos.
我已經有一陣子沒有校正電腦顯示器了，今天剛好來重新校正順便分享一下過程。使用校準過的顯示器能較精確地顯示色彩準確度，有助於我編輯照片。
I use the X-Rite ColorMunki Display color calibrator:

To calibrate, I launch the software and place the calibrator flush and center against the monitor.
校準時啓動校正軟件，然後將校正器平貼至顯示器中央。
The process runs for about 5 minutes and different colors show up on the screen as it calibrates.
整個校正過程大約花5分鐘，校準時屏幕上會顯示不同的顏色。
The image below shows the dramatic before and after difference, had I not calibrated, I would've perceived the photo to be too blue and thus over-compensate for it when I edit the photo. So now you can see why I calibrate my monitor!
以下圖片可看出校正前後之差異，如果沒校正，我會認爲圖片偏藍導致修圖時過度補償，由此可看出顯示器校正的重要性！
Calibrating you monitor is very important indeed especially if you are doing some print work. if it is for some general internet usage, i found it does make little difference as everybody else has uncalibrated monitors and different devices that show color in very different ways. But of course, being a professional means you always strive to get the most accurate colors in the image, no matter who is viewing it.

I can't understand why the machines come from the factory the way they do. They look an awful lot better when calibrated if you ask me.

Some do come calibrated, such as the higher end monitors used by professionals, but it is still a good idea to re-calibrate them once awhile :)

How much does that system cost that you used to callibrate your monitors. If it doesnt cost too much id def be interested in purchasing one for my monitors.
