Heaven and Earth [Part 18]

Heaven and Earth

This series deals with heavenly and earthly topics and the unity of both. Because I noticed, that these are often just two sides of the same coin.

Hope you like it!

A living tree

Some driftwood after the flood

Comparing these two images lets me think about the difference between order and chaos. It seems like being alive means being connected and dying means loosing connections. Furthermore, the higher a tree grows, the stonger its roots has to develop. Otherwise if it looses contact to the earth, it will end as the hotbed for another tree.

Thanks for your consideration!

Sort Order:

English artist William Blake believed that everything that occurred on earth was the result of a prior action that first occurred in Heaven. Also, I've heard some suggests that the higher up your food comes from the more nutritious it is. Meat and vegetables from the earth, then berries from the shrubs, then the most nutritious food is fruit from the trees.

Wow, thanks for your comment! There is some fine brain-food into it :-) Much appreciated.

Nice one! Really good shots :)
I really like the idea of talking about order and chaos.. If I may just leave my thoughts here? ^^
Order, in my eyes, is something that has reason. Even though the way a tree grows its branches may look chaotic there is a reason they do it on a certain way. Maybe they are oriented to the sunlight, or leave enough space to the next branch.
Chaos on the other hand is completely arbitrarily.. Theres no reasonable structure in it which is also comes with a kind of beauty.

Keep up the nice posts!
Best wishes

Very interesting thoughts, also chaos might have some kind of underlying order (for which we just don't know the reasons). Sometimes it's necessary to step back and see the greater picture to understand the order inside of chaos.

'Chaos' is an interdisciplinary theory stating that within the apparent randomness of chaotic complex systems, there are underlying patterns, constant feedback loops, repetition, self-similarity, fractals, self-organization, and reliance on programming at the initial point known as sensitive dependence on initial conditions.

That is a good analogy about connections and life.

Trees are utterly fascinating. We are above ground creatures and view trees from that perspective -- we think the roots serve the tree above ground. What if it is actually the other way around. Maybe the vast root systems are superior, at least co-equal.

That’s an interesting idea. The world seems to depend on our individual point of view. So maybe we can change worlds by changing our perspective. Thanks for your inspiring comment!

excellent contrasts. A tree is living and branch out. Drift wood is only good in the fire after it is dried. Thanks for the spiritual moment.

Thanks for your appreciation! Some people create awesome art out of driftwood, by connecting it in a new way. But that’s another story ;-)

Hey @shortcut,

No place is good as Heaven. I think we all should love Heaven :)

Thanks for your feedback! I think human nature is somehow inbetween heaven and earth.
While striving after heaven, we shouldn't forget about the earth we all come from.
