Swami vivekananda, the cyclonic Hindu monk of India, was born on January 12, 1863 at simla in calcutta.
Swami vivekananda was one of the most influential spiritual leaders of Vedanta philosophy. In January 1897, swami vivekananda arrived in Colombo his small group of western disciples. Two monasteries were founded by him, one that Belur.

  Belur Math is the  headquarters of the Ramkrishna Math and mission , founded by swami vivekananda, a cheif disciple of Ramkrishna paramahamsa.

It is located on the west Bangal.
This temple is the heart of the Ramkrishna
Movement.
